Disappointments

So this life without credit cards and lets face it, without much income has not been all bad.  Due to our Disney Vacation Club as well as some work bonuses, and sweepstakes wins we have been able to have some fun.  A year and a half ago we went to WDW for a week, last April we went on a Mexican Rivera cruise for our Anniversary, and there have been other various long weekends.  So we are by no means destitute but our life is, for sure, not where we would like it to be.

Probably the biggest disappointment to come out of our debt, and something that I never saw as a consequence when I was accruing all this debt, was that we can not afford to have children, at least not in the foreseeable future.  I am almost 30, and we have been married for 5 years so my internal clock is definetly clicking louder and louder.  The wonderful world of social media that we live in now, were I can see all of these people that I don't even talk to anymore having kids doesn't help!  What might even be worse about it is that if we are going to wait to have kids I want to be having a lot of fun, and traveling but of course we don't have money to do that either!  Such a frustrating double edged sword!

I know, and have heard from MANY people, 'you find a way'.  Yes, sure, we could eat Ramen Noodles every meal, live in the ghetto so we could afford a 2 bedroom, and have no cable or internet but honestly that is not any life I want, even if it means having kids.  When we already live on a fairly tight budget, have no savings, and are barely able to pay all of our bills every month how are we supposed to pay for diapers or daycare?

So where does that leave us?  Well either we will start bringing in more money every month (the plan) and then we can start a family, or we wait till we have paid off our debt, which if you are not good a math puts me at 32.  Again, I know, that is not that old, many women have babies much older than that, as my mom did; but when you get married at 23, its a hard pill to swallow.....

well this has been a fairly depressing post so I am going to include some pictures from fun things we have done to end on a positive note:
